About Us

Dzongu Lee a home stay accommodation facility run by a Sonam Topgay family in Lingdong Village, Dzongu, North Sikkim in a pristine area is well equipped to provide a homely stay in the protected area of Dzongu.

Home Stay was established in the year 2011 as the new concept of tourism in relation to village tourism activities was evolved. The family is well qualified with Tourism concept and hospitality. Dongu Lee is only the home which has taken seriously to provide travelers with proper services in terms of sanitation and other facilities. It has well fitted toilet & bath . Dongu Lee has five double bedded rooms in a cottage style house which is very much accessible from the road. Balcony  provides a scientilating view of the adjacent hills on the opposite side including that of meandering Teesta river which divide Dzongu from other parts of  North Sikkim. Dzongu Lee rooms are simple  but comfortable.

Activities:

            While in Dzongu you will be able to learn about Lepcha culture and lifestyles, the immense diversity of plants and wildlife and enjoy the rich,  lush tropical mountain scenery.  The forests around Khangchendzonga are some of the most biologically diverse in India, and contain over 30 species of rhododendrons,  400 species of orchids and many other flowering plants.  Together with the Khangchendzonga Biosphere reserve to the west, the combined area also contains a large proportion of the 144 mammals, 300 plus birds, and 400 and more butterflies recorded in Sikkim alone.

            A local English specking guide will accompany you throughout your visit and guide you through one or more of the following attractions:

     ·        Buddhist monastery at Tholung, Prufok/Barfok, Tingvong, Lunggthem and Hee-Gyathang.

·        Experience the Lepacha traditional way of farming and other daily activities of the Lepcha people.

·        Observe religious practices performed by the Lepcha priests who are known as Mun (Female priest) and Pudim (Male Priest)

·        A Lepcha Cultural show in the evening can be arranged on demand.

·        Over 67 species of birds in a verdant mountain landscape.

·        Medicinal Plants, their importance and how the local people use these plants in traditional ways.

·        Visits to Cardamom fields to explore their richness of plants and wildlife.

·        Visit to Cane Bamboo bridge at Passiongdang and learn how it is built .

·        Angling can be done on the River Teesta.

·        Village hikes.
